Privacy policy
Last updated: August 2026
SoundClippy is a small, fun soundboard site. This isn't corporate legal-speak — here's plainly what happens with your data.
What we log
When you visit, our server records a basic access log: the IP address the request came from, the page requested, and the timestamp. This is standard web server behavior, not something specific to you.
- Access logs are kept for 7 days, then automatically deleted.
- These logs aren't backed up, sold, analyzed, or used for anything beyond basic troubleshooting (like figuring out if something's broken).
What we actually store
Outside of the short-lived access log above, the only things we keep are:
- Likes. If you like a sound, we remember that so the count stays accurate and so you see it as liked next time. If you're not logged in, this is tied to a random ID stored in a cookie on your device, not your identity.
- Account info, only if you create one. If you sign up (for example, to build a dashboard or save soundboards), we store the basic account details you provide — like your name and email — so the account works.
What we don't do
- We don't run ad trackers, analytics pixels, or third-party tracking scripts.
- We don't sell, share, or hand your data to anyone, for any reason.
- We don't build profiles on you, and we don't have anything to sell to advertisers even if we wanted to.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies purely for the site to function: one to remember your like history if you're not logged in, and a session cookie if you are. Nothing here is used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
Changes
If this policy ever changes in a meaningful way, we'll update this page. Given the size and nature of this project, we don't expect that to happen often.
This is a plain-language policy for a small hobby project, not a substitute for formal legal advice.
